Power I Sports is based in Manhattan Beach, California and was founded by David Bugdanowitz, a former high school football player and current coach.  

As a player David noticed that his cleats were wearing down from all the walking to and from the field on concrete, causing him to choose between asking his family for new cleats or risk decreased performance on the field.  

Once he began coaching, David became concerned about his players being injured from slipping on concrete in cleats, as well as the ongoing damage to the locker room and hallway floors caused by cleats.  And the more David spoke to friends and coaches in other sports, the more he understood this problem to be universal.  

So as David was finishing college he designed the CleatSlide and filed for a patent. David launched Power I Sports in 2025 with the mission is to help players play their best while protecting themselves, their equipment and their schools. And to look good doing it.
